USA-2  Terms & Conditions
valid till 31 October 2019


All rentals are subject to the terms and conditions of the Rental Contract signed at the rental company office on departure with the vehicle.  The Rental Contract is the governing document between the client and the rental company.  Rental prices, policies, and conditions are subject to change without notice.


Rental Duration

Rental charges are based on rates in effect at pick-up day.


Minimum Rental Periods

All Motorhomes - 1 Week (7 Nights) minimum

From Chicago for all departures during the "Air Show"- 14 night minimum 

Reservations & Payments

* Other conditions might apply for special long term rentals.

Prior to reservation the customer's credit card detail is taken as a guarantee.
Down payment - 5% of total rental (minimum 200$) is taken via client's credit card Visa or MasterCard after booking is confirmed.

Full payment is required 55 days prior to date of departure. There are no exceptions.

For short notice bookings, full payment is required upon confirmation.

A confirmation invoice will be issued and sent to the client by e-mail or fax.

Must be pre-paid:  Miles packages, Tax, One way fee, Early Bird Package, All Inclusive package.

Will be paid on pick up day:  Vehicle kit, Personal kits, Camping chairs, Generator, additional miles, Security Deposit.  
Note: different payment policy might apply for rentals over 35 nights.


All rental charges are subject to sales tax by law. 

Sales tax are 5%-18% depending on pick up location. 

Tax must be pre paid for pre-paid items (rental days, miles packs etc..)

For extra items which are payable upon pick up (extra miles, generator use, personal kits, camping chairs, vehicle kit etc..)- the client must pay the tax at the rental location before collection the vehicle.
Note: Taxes are subject to change without notice. In case of a tax change, client will be informed and charged for the tax differences, even after the full payment was made.

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation fees apply to the full rental cost not including any applied discounts.

A cancellation of a booking MUST be made by the client in writing via e-mail or via fax and received at our office during operation hours 9am-16 pm Europe time.
In any case of cancellation, a handling fee of 50 US$ will be charged, in addition to the cancellation fee.
If vehicle is returned early for any reason whatsoever No refund available.
If a bookings travel dates are amended to a lower season rates or less number of days, the cancellation fee for the original booking will apply.

Cancellation Fees
Note: Different cancellation policy might apply for rentals over 35 nights or for Special offers. please reffer to the cancellation fees shown on your booking forms.

55 days or more prior to pickup date - 5%, minimum 200 US$ (the down payment)

54 to 20 days prior to pickup date -  15%, minimum 600 US$

19 days to 10 days prior to pick p date - 25%, minimum 950 US$

9 days to 4 days prior to pickup date - 90%, minimum 1100 US$

3 days or less prior to pick up date / or Non Show - 100% (Full Rental Charges) 


Group Policy
all booking requests of 4 or more vehicles is considered a Group Booking. Other terms and cancellation fees apply.


Amendments - Reservation changes
Any modification of reservations is subject to a USD$50 amendment fee.

Plus - The following changes will result in a re-calculation of daily rate. The rate will be calculated using the most current flex rate and compared to the original flex rate; according to the higher rate:

1.       Change of party name

2.       Change of vehicle size

3.       Change of departure location

4.       Change in departure date

5.       Cancellation and rebooking

6.       Change in drop-off date

7.       Change in one-way drop-off location

Once confirmed, the following changes will not affect the rate:

8.       Change in party size - No change in rate.

9.       Adding pre-paid items - No change in rate.



Security Deposit - payable at pick up

A basic refundable security deposit of  500 US$  AND the use of a credit card to pay for all local charges and deposits is required at departure.
Due to the Burning Man Festival - For All rentals with pick up in San Francisco / Los Angeles / Las Vegas / Seattle / Salt Lake City / Portland between the date 21-26 August 2019 inclusive - the refundable security deposit is 1000 US$.

NOTE: Personal cheques, cash, Debit cards and ATM cards are NOT accepted.
Upon vehicle return, all extra charges are balanced against the security deposit and a credit will be issued to cover the refund.

Burning Man Advisory
Travelers during the Burning Man Event will participate in the following policies.
The RV must be returned in the same condition as it was received.

Driver Requirements

Vehicles can only be operated by qualified drivers 21 years of age or older. All drivers must have a valid and identifiable driver's license. Your driver's license and foreign passport are required as identification and will be verified. All drivers must be identified, authorized, and must sign the Rental Contract. There is no cost for additional drivers and no "under 25" surcharge

Extra Driver - There are no charges for additional, qualified drivers but all must be listed on, and sign, the Rental Contract and all will be bound by Terms and Conditions of the Rental Contract at vehicle pickup.


Arrival Day - First Night at a Hotel

Clients who arrive North America by international flights are not allowed to drive a motorhome on flight arrival day. The client must overnight in a motel/hotel.

Anchorage - Some exceptions to this rule are made in Anchorage on a request basis, if the client arrives between the hours of 12:00 PM (1200 hours) and 3:00 PM (1500 hours).

Getting to the Rental Center

All clients must call the Rental Center early in the morning (starting at 8:30 am/08.00 hours) in order for to arrange the arrival time at the Rental Center.

Arrivals at the Rental Center without notice may result in departure delays, for which the rental company accepts no responsibility.


Pick Up Times
Monday to Friday 13:00-15:00 hours
Note: if you pick up on Saturday - times may vary , as some of the rental locations close earlier on Saturdays. Actual departure time may vary depending on local circumstances

Early Bird departures 09:30-12:00 hours (without extra charge)

All Rental Centers are closed on Sundays and Holidays.  No departures.

No refunds will be made for late departures.


Drop Off Times
Monday to Saturday 09:00-11:00 hours.

Early Bird return times 09:00-15:00 hours (without extra charge) unless you return on Saturday, as some locations close earlier on Saturday.

*   All Rental Centers are closed on Sundays and Holidays.  No returns.

No refunds will be made for early returns.

Early Bird Departure Special - Transfer Package  (EBDS)
EBDS transfer package is price is 402$ Monday to Saturday.
Early Bird Departure Special (EBDS) Transfer package is for clients that prefer to be first on the road - even during the busy high season. The time saved at departure and gained at return means between 4 and 8 extra daytime hours of holiday time.

EBDS package must be reserved (and pre-paid) 35 days or more in advance.

Early Bird Transfer Package includes:

* Beginning at 8:30 a.m. transfers from designated airport area hotels

First in Line service at the rental center

* Early departure beginning 9:00 a.m. and complete by no later than 12:00 Noon

* Late Return Option up to 3:00 p.m. (15:00 hours)

* Return transfer to airport hotels will be arranged and paid for by rental center.


Hotel Transfers - for "Early Bird" (EBDS) Clients Only

With pre-purchase of Early Bird Transfer Special, transfers from pre-advised designated hotels in designated areas are provided, beginning at 9:00 AM (0900 hours).

If the client is staying in a hotel in a non-designated area, the transfer costs will remain on his expense and may void other benefits of the Early Bird Departure Special. 

The Client must call the Rental Station early in the morning (starting at 08.30 hours) in order for to arrange the transfer and early arrival at the Rental Center. 

Arrivals at the Rental Center without notice may result in departure delays, for which the rental company accepts no responsibility.

Transfers cannot be arranged for calls made after 11:00 AM (1100 hours) on pick-up day.


Return Transfers - for 'Early Bird" (EBDS) Clients Only

With pre-purchase of Early Bird Transfer Special, return transfers to designated areas or airport are included with the rental fee. Other return transfers are at the client's expense. 

A late return will void the company responsibility to the client for return transfers. 

Return transfers are normally accomplished up to 4:00 PM (1600 hours).


Vehicle Familiarization Tour

A tour of approximately 30 minutes is required to familiarize the client and other drivers with the operation of the vehicle before departure. 

Video vehicle familiarization presentations in English and German may also be available at most centers.


Vehicle Acceptance

After the tour you will be required to sign a Vehicle Acceptance/Service Satisfaction form listing the condition of the vehicle, to ensure you depart in a vehicle cleaned to your standard which is in good working order, with complete kits, adequate propane tank, empty waste tanks and an appropriate gasoline level. Be sure to have any items corrected prior to departure if you are not happy.



Before signing the contract please check the vehicle from the inside and outside and make sure there are no damages or broken parts. If there is some damage, have it noted to the rental agent in writing.

Make sure you have all the items you paid for, and that nothing is missing.

Before the departure make sure you know how to operate all the motorhome systems, mechanicals and electrical: refrigerator, heating, air condition, water etc. If it is not clear, you may ask for explanations.

Please ask for a map or directions to nearby campground and supermarkets for you to stock up on food and bottled water.


Late Return

A fee of $25 per hour will be charged for each hour that the vehicle is overdue without permission. 

Cleaning Charges

The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was received, excluding normal wear and tear. The water tanks must be emptied prior to return of the vehicle.

Depending on local conditions, a cleaning fee and/or waste tank evacuation fee may be charged up to $250 if the interior of the vehicle has not been cleaned. Damages or loss of equipment will be paid for by the renter.


Return Day

Since the clients need time for vehicle return and transfer to the airport, no morning or early afternoon flights should be scheduled. 

Days Closed

All Rental Centers are closed on Sundays and Holidays.  No departures, No returns, except Early Bird Plan with special authorization.
Anchorage branch will be close From 8 October 2018 till 15 April 2019.

Fuel (Petrol) & Gas (Propane) Information

All gasoline and all propane refueling during the trip are at the customer's expense.

Initial fuel may be charged for at departure at some rental centers.

No warranties are made concerning fuel mileage and fuel tank capacity. We assume no liability for fuel consumption rates.

The vehicle at departure will contain a minimum one-quarter tank of petrol (gasoline) and adequate propane for appliance use. 

You may be charged a deposit for fuel included at departure, depending on local circumstances. 

Return fuels at the same level for refund of deposits. 

At the Rental Center, you will be given directions to the nearest fueling stations. 

There are no warranties concerning fuel consumption rates while en route.



The rental company makes every effort to provide the customer with the model requested. The company reserves the right to substitute models of similar or higher grade. Should a model of lower grade be offered and accepted, liability will be limited to refund of price differential between model paid for and model accepted by the client.



In case the client finds the model reserved to be inadequate for his party, if possible, upgrades to a larger sized model will be allowed, at a charge determined from local posted rates. The rental policy is to provide the model reserved.  In some instances, circumstances may require an upgrade to a larger sized motorhome to accommodate an immediate departure.  The upgrade will be provided at no charge to the client and with no further liability to the rental company.



In case the client finds the model reserved to be too large for his comfort, if possible, downgrades to a smaller sized model will be allowed at no charge to the client.

In some instances, circumstances may require a downgrade to a smaller model to accommodate an immediate departure.  The downgrade, if accepted, will earn a credit determined from local posted rates and with no further liability to the rental company.



            All coverages are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Contract.


The rental company maintains third party liability protection coverages on its rental vehicles of $10,000,000 (USD) against claims of bodily injury and property damage brought against the company as a result of the operation or use of its vehicles.
This covers the company only. 

Auto Liability- Included with USA & CAN Rentals
he company provides Auto Liability coverage for you on a secondary basis for bodily injury, property damage and personal injury protection (PIP) as required by the financial responsibility laws of the state or province in which an accident may occur, for claims made against the client an/or authorized drivers.
The liability coverage is void if the rental vehicle is not operated safely in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and in compliance with all terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) - Included with USA & CAN Rentals
In addition, USA and CAN rentals INCLUDE Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) providing excess liability insurance up to $1,000,000, for your peace of mind.

SLI provides excess liability coverage up to a total of $1,000,000 combined single limit of coverage per occurrence against claims made by third parties for bodily injury, death, and/or property damage caused by operation of the vehicle. EXCLUSIONS APPLY.  A partial list is contained in the Rental Contract. Please check at departure.

Coverage Summaries - USA Departures
Provided you abide by the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement, report accidents and/or damage promptly, and avoid prohibited vehicle uses, your coverages include:
* Auto Liability
Statutory and excess Supplemental Liability Insurance up to $1,000,000.
* Vehicle Damage/Loss Per occurrence or incident, only $1,500 of responsibility. You are covered for amounts in excess of $1,500 under most conditions.
* Trip Reimbursement Travel Expenses incurred as a result of mechanical breakdown up to $3,000 per tour.


Traveling to Mexico is NOT PERMITTED and not covered by insurance.



Damage Responsibility

If the Rental Contract is breached or if the client fails to secure a police report, or if the client engage in prohibited uses, the client is responsible for any and all loss of or damage to the vehicle from any cause, regardless of fault and all related expenses.  No other coverages are applicable, as well.


Damage to Vehicle - Client's Responsibility

Provided Rental Contract conditions are met, the client responsibility for damage, theft and vandalism to the vehicle is limited to $1000 per occurrence or incident ($1500 for booking made after 15 November 2018) 


Parking/Traffic Violations

Clients are responsible for reporting and payment of all parking/traffic violations at rental termination of rental.

Non-reporting of parking/traffic violations breaches the Rental Contract and may result in an administrative charge of up to $250 in addition to the fines.

Toll Roads
All-Electronic Tolling is becoming more and more prevalent in many popular areas of the USA and Canada. “All-Electronic” Tolling means the Traveler using these roads has no option to pay local tolls with cash. Instead, a picture of the vehicle’s license plate is taken and used to assess toll charges. Clients of Cruise America are responsible for the payment of these charges.
Cruise America offers solutions for ALL Electronic Tolling (AET) for Golden Gate Bridge and the Homestead Extension portion of the Florida Turnpike (between Florida City and Miramar Plaza).  Participation is automatic. 
There is nothing to decide at time of rental. 
How does it work?  Cameras take a photo of the RV’s license plate as it goes through the toll lane and sends a bill to Cruise America. 
Cruise America pays the road agency.
Cruise America’s convenience fee is $10.00 per rental PLUS actual incurred toll charges. The credit card used for the rental will automatically be charged.
Where there isn’t AET, you will have to pay the tolls as you normally would.
The same goes for all other cities with AET roads.

SPECIAL NOTE: Please be aware of the difference between automated tolling and services such as Fastrack and EZ Pass lanes.
Using Fastrack and EZ Pass lanes without the corresponding transponder will result in punitive fees in addition to the regular toll rates. Fees in these cases can often be as high as $25 - $100 per violation. It is the clients’ responsibility to avoid using these lanes under all circumstances in order to avoid such fees.
Finally, fines for Parking, Red Light, Speeding and other traffic violations are treated similarly to the above, however, the administrative fees charged by Cruise America in these cases is $35 per rental.

Maintenance and responsibility

The client is responsible for checking engine oil, fluids, and coolant levels at each refueling, as well as reporting mechanical failures immediately. Instructions and procedures for maintenance expense reimbursement are provided at the rental counter. Clients may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in vehicle operation or failure to provide normal maintenance.


Refueling and Servicing

Client must turn off engine and all ignition sources including gas appliances, refrigerator, hot water heater, stove, furnace, etc. each time of refueling. 


Winter Warning

Vehicle operating systems are not fully operable during subfreezing temperatures.

Be aware that in Canada and northern US cities as well in locations with harsh winter weather, the motorhomes are "winterized" from approximately mid-October to late March.
This means the water and holding tanks are completely drai
ned and that water facilities will not be available for use .This action is to prevent the tanks and pipes from freezing and bursting.

If you chose to have your rental motorhome "de-winterized" (so that you can use your sink, shower, and toilet) a cost will apply.
You will need to exercise extreme care while traveling in a "de-winterized" motorhome during frigid weather. You will need to run the heater at all times to protect the tanks and pipes from freeze damage, or in extreme cases you would need to put RV Anti-Freeze in the water and holding tanks (by doing so, you may not use any water systems). If the pipes or tanks were damaged from freezing, it is considered negligent damage and you will be responsible for the full cost of all repairs. If you have any more questions on the rental policies during winter, please contact the rental center where your trip would originate. They can provide you with specific information. You can also check the Renter Assistance Guide for winter operations.


Travel assistance

A Traveler's Assistance Hotline is provided 24-hours a day 7-days a Week.

Client MUST call immediately the (800) 334- 4110 number, in any case of mechanical breakdowns, service problems, or holiday impairment.  A call to the departure rental center or travel agent or tour operator will not help.  The rental company assumes no liability for client's concerns, without a call to Travelers Assistance and documentation of the problem or issue while en route.

The rental company will not refund clients for cellular, text-based communication, data or roaming surcharges, for calls the toll-free helpdesk. The Travelers Assistance helpdesk is a toll-free number so can be called using a local phone at garage, services, campground, restaurant etc. Alternatively, we encourage clients to seek less expensive options like purchasing a sim on a local/reduced rate tariff for all your foreign travel arrangements.


Renter Assistance Guide

This is the first place client should look if there is a problem.

The Renter Assistance Guide is included with each motorhome, discusses operation of all features of the motorhome operation and contains important instructional information. This Guide will also advise what to do in the case of an accident or any damage that may occur to the motorhome. It has many other features including use of the safety equipment such as, smoke detector and fire extinguisher.

Client is responsible for reading the Renter Assistance Guide thoroughly.


Breakdown Assistance and Repair Reimbursement

If a mechanical breakdown should occur, the rental company will assist the client to secure over-the-road maintenance from reputable service providers. 

All repairs require authorization by phone from Travelers Assistance at 
(800) 334-4110 who will document the problem on a customer service log.
Tools for vehicle repair are not provided. 

Client’s expenses for authorized repairs; oil change, etc. will be paid directly by the rental company or will be reimbursed upon presentation of receipts.

Any vehicle service expense over $75 requires a call to Travelers Assistance at -

If the cost is under $75 client may have the service completed, but he must keep the receipt for reimbursement.  Rental centers are authorized to reimburse receipts up to $75 without a customer service log. 

Engine battery jump-starts require Travelers Assistance approval in advance.



In the event of an accident, client must notify Travelers Assistance immediately from the scene of the accident, there will be given instructions on how to proceed.

The client must also obtain a policeman report or bench report from the local police station. Either report will be accepted.


Travel Expense Reimbursement

In the event the vehicle is in breakdown repair for 12 hours or less, through no client’s fault, the company's  responsibility is limited to a refund of the daily rental rate or portion thereof.  Radio, air conditioning, refrigerator, generator, microwave, appliance and cruise control malfunctions are not considered breakdowns and no refunds are available for repair time to these items.  Daily rental rate is based on total time charges paid to the rental company divided by the total number of rental days of the Rental Contract.


In the event of a mechanical breakdown that is immediately reported to Travelers Assistance and requires the vehicle to be in repair for more than 12 hours, certain living/transportation expenses are reimbursable.  Living/transportation expenses are not covered in cases of radio, air conditioning, refrigerator, generator, microwave, appliance, and cruise control malfunctions since these are not necessary for basic operation of the vehicle. Expense reimbursement is void in case of collision, accident, or failure to call Traveler’s Assistance immediately.


Provides up to $30 per day per person for lodging and up to $30 per day per party for transportation expenses - limit up to $3,000 per tour. Client must present all receipts for a refund of expenses.


All complaints must reach us within three months of completing the rental.
Any complaint
reaching us after the three-month period cannot be reviewed for potential compensation.
a client has not established a Customer Service Log during the rental and does not identify a problem in writing upon closing the contract or shortly thereafter, no compensation review is warranted.
All complaints must be in writing. A full copy of the client's complaint letter must be included.. Copies of all relevant documents available such as rental contracts, receipts, etc. should also be included.

Travel Restrictions

Insurance coverages are invalid if problems occur in the following areas (and other areas you may be advised about at pick up) and all recovery expenses are at the client’s own cost from such areas. Violations of these restrictions void damage waivers and the client will be held liable for all vehicle damages including to tires, towing charges and other related expenses as a result of a breakdown associated with operating in these areas.

Clients should consult the Renters Assistance Guide and the collection Rental Centre for complete information on travel restrictions and local circumstances at the time they collect their motorhome.

Death Valley and other desert areas - Vehicles may be operated with EXTREME CARE in Death Valley and other desert areas during the months of July and August. In Summer, clients visit these areas at their own risk and the company will not be held responsible for extraordinary vehicle recovery and other charges. During certain periods these areas are not habitable and could pose a danger to the driver and passengers.  

Logging and other "non-public" roads Vehicles must always travel on bitumen roads and are not allowed of-road on trails. Logging roads and selected highways such as Apache Trail in Arizona.

Manhattan Due to restrictions on vehicle heights, propane gas and parking, vehicles are not permitted and are not permitted to travel through any underground or underwater tunnels.

Alaska, Yukon and Northwest Territories Travel on all public and/or a numbered road is permitted. Travel on non-public roads, unpaved back roads, trails and the like - commonly called "logging roads" - or on any surface subjecting the vehicle to unreasonable damage or road hazard is prohibited. You may receive further information regarding seasonal travel restrictions as well. The rental company reserve the right to restrict travel, dependent on current road conditions.

Newfoundland - No travel is permitted

Travel to Mexico
IMPORTANT NOTE:  Traveling to Mexico is strictly prohibited till further notice. No exceptions.
Motorhomes are NOT permitted to enter Northern Baja or any other Mexican states contiguous to the US border or otherwise.  No automobile liability or other coverage applies to vehicle operation in Mexico.  The client is strictly forbidden to take vehicle across the US border to Mexico.

Towing / Exterior Storage / Bicycles

No towing apparatus or hook-up services are provided under any circumstances. Customer must declare intention to tow prior to departure and warrant that towing weight is within 2,500 lb. tow weight restrictions.

A nominal towing charge will be imposed. The rental company provides no collision or liability coverage for damage to the towed object or for third- party injury inflicted by the towed object, under any circumstances.  

Storing items on vehicle roof or exteriors is not permitted including bicycles strapped to the outside of

the motorhome. The only motorhome that could carry bicycles is the Fun Mover (FM 28).


Luggage Storage

Soft-side/collapsible luggage is recommended on camping vacations. Remaining luggage may be stored at most rental centers, all at the owner's risk, but of course not in a one-way journey! 


Ferry Restrictions

Ferry reservations can be difficult to manage during high season. We recommend your clients make a reservation for at least a 30-foot vehicle on the ferry, irrespective as to the size of the motorhome reserved, to avoid problems due to possible upgrades.

Small pets are allowed, but customer will be responsible to clean up after their pet and return unit in same condition as received, or be subject to a cleaning fee up to $250.

Motorhome International is independent, not an agent for any particular car/motor-home rental company. Motorhome International arrange the rental between the client and the rental company. when you pick up the vehicle, you must sign a rental contract provided by the rental company and subject to local laws.
