France - Terms & Conditions

 

Minimum Rental Days

All rentals require 7 days minimum.
Trips overlapping seasons are charged in the appropriate seasonal rate for each day of travel.

 

Reservations and Payments
For "2019 Early Bookings 10% Special" - a full payment is required by 29 January 2019
For all other bookings:

A down payment of 30% of total booking is taken after booking is confirmed via client's international credit card Visa or Mastercard.
The rest of the payments are due and payable 55 days prior to pick up day by a credit card Visa or Mastercard or via bank transfer .

For short notice bookings, full payment is required upon confirmation.

Non-payment will result in cancellation of the reservation.

Prior to reservation the customer's credit card details are taken as a guarantee.

A confirmation invoice will be issued and sent to the client by e-mail or fax.

 

Cancellations Fees:

55 days or more prior to pick up: 30% of the total rental
54 days to 36 days prior to pick up: 55% of the total rental
35 days to 1 day prior to pick up : 100% of the total rental
On pick up day or no show: 100% of the total rental
In any case of cancellation, a handling fee of 50 Euro will be charged, in addition to the cancellation fee.
If  vehicle is returned early for any reason whatsoever No refund available
If a bookings travel dates are amended to a lower season rates or less number of days, the cancellation fee for the original booking will apply.
A cancellation of a booking MUST be made by the client in writing by e-mail or by fax and received at our office during operation hours.


Cancellation Insurance - 5% of daily rental rate (must be pre-paid on reservation)

When subscribed, except insurance premium, there is no cancellation fee, whenever the cancellation is notified.

 


Amendments:  An amendment fee of 50 Euro will be charged for each change in reservation after booking is confirmed. This refers only to MINOR changes like adding items, or changing the pick up/drop off date in 1-2 days.

Major changes like: changing dates, changing model, changing location, changing client's name would be considered as cancellation of the booking and will cause cancellation fees.
Changes may be made to a reservation confirmed to the Hirer from the date of reservation until at least sixty days before the agreed commencement of the rental period, as long as the Rental Firm has alternative capacity and the alternative booking corresponds in amount to the first.
Re-bookings are only possible in the same calendar year.

 

Privet Transfers 

Transfers are possible only in Paris  from 08:00 to 15:00 due to the traffic

Transfers in other locations - on request.

Transfers must be pre-paid at the time of the booking payment.
While making a transfer reservation, please advise all details concerning flights and trains: hour of arrival, flight or train number and departure place, and also hotel details: name, address and phone number.
NOTE: Only PRE-PAID transfers will be arranged.
Client MUST provide a vaild telephone number preferably a mobile phone number, to get confirmation of transfer. otherwise transfer can not be confirmed.

 

Transfers could be arranged to the rental station from:

CDG and ORLY Airports

EUROSTAR Terminal (Paris Gare du Nord - Train Station)

Other Paris Train Stations

Paris Downtown hotels

Transfer on last day to a hotel, a train station or an airport could be arranged and be paid locally.

Due to potential traffic problems, precise pick-up and departure times cannot be guaranteed.

There will not be any refund in case of not using a pre-paid transfer.

 

Airport Meeting points :

CDG - Terminal 1  : Exit gate - just after the custom

CDG - Terminal 2  : Exit gate - just after the custom
CDG - Terminal 3  : Exit gate (just after the custom)

Orly Airport: Exit gate (just after the custom)

 

Driving License / Additional drivers

Minimum age is 23.

Second Additional driver is free of charge.
Third driver is 50 Euro.
(Maximum 3 drivers per motorhome).

A full resident country drivers license, held for least 2 years, must be presented at the time of rental.
This motorhome can be driven with a valid driving license from your country of residence, held for a least 2 years.

An international driving license is recommended, but it is not mandatory, if your national licence is in English (Australia, New Zealand, US, Canada, and South Africa residents ).
If the resident country drivers license is not in English format - than an international drivers license is also required.

 

Security Deposit

A security deposit of 2000 EUR must be paid on pickup day at the rental station by international credit card  - Visa, Mastercard ONLY.
Debit cards or cash are NOT accepted !
The deposit is payable by an open signed card imprint with an authorisation obtained for 2,000 Euro. sufficient funds must be available.
If CDW insuranace is purchased in advance - the security deposit is 1000 EUR.
The Security Deposit is returned provided the vehicle is returned to the correct location on time, undamaged, with a clean interior and with full fuel tank.
The security deposit will be used if there is damage to the vehicle on its return, and to cover speeding fines, road toll, parking and traffic fines. In this case, the Renter will be charged 40 Euro handeling fee for each fine/ticket.

Departure Formalities

Upon arrival, the renter should expect to fill out a rental contract, to sign a Euro 2,000 security deposit (via credit card VISA,or MASTERCARD) - to show a valid driver's license and to inspect the Motorhome before leaving.

Should for reasons beyond the rental company's control a Motorhome not be available on the book date, the rental company's liability is limited to a refund for hire days lost.

Departure time is imperative and is noted down in customer's contract.

 

Safety Seats:  

According the law in France :

A child car seat is necessary fora child from 9 to 15/18 kg weight

A booster seat in necessary for a child from 15/18 kg to 30/35 kg weight

All the campervans and motorhomes have rear seating and correct anchor

points. These can then be fitted with up to 2 booster seats (Combi-Van) // 2 baby seats or a baby and booster seat (All types except Classic 4/5 and Classic 6) // 2 baby seats and 1 booster seats or 3 booster seats (Classic 4/5) // 2 baby seats and 2 booster seats or 4 booster seats (Classic 6).

* Children younger than six months must be secured in a rearward facing restraint

* Children aged six months to under four years must be secured in either a rear or forward facing restraint

* Children aged four years to under seven years must be secured in forward facing child restraint or booster seat

* Children younger than four years cannot travel in the front seat of a vehicle with two or more rows

* Children aged four years to under seven years cannot travel in the front seat of a vehicle with two or more rows, unless all other back seats are occupied by children younger than seven years in a child restraint or booster seat.

 

Insurance

Public liability: (included in daily rate)

Public liability insurance protects the rental company for 760,000 Euro in case of fire or explosion. Public liability is unlimited in case of accident.

 

Basic Coverage (included in daily rate)

All vehicles are insured against damage to vehicle from accident, fire, theft, vandalism and third part claim, subject to a 2,400 Euro excess clause. In the event of loss or damage to vehicle while on rental, the client’s responsibility is limited to a maximum of 2,000 Euro per occurrence.

CDW Insurance - 10 Euro per day
minimum charge 100 Euro, no Maximum
With the purchase of Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), the client's responsibility is reduced from a maximum of 2,400 Euro to 800 Euro per occurrence. see Exceptions

This guarantee is effective in the majority of western countries : France, Andora, Monaco, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, Finland & Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Estonia and Lithuania. Other countries on request.

 

Exceptions - Are not covered by our insurance, even with the purchase of CDW or PAI :

* Damages due to frost

* Damages to the interior of the vehicle

* Radio, tires wheels, side mirris and all glass damages (windscreen, windows)

* Theft of Personal belongings, or vandalism

* Electronic devices  (GPS , TV, Antenna)
* Damages to the roof

* Damages caused by striking objects/trees

 

NOTE  that with the purchase of CDW, in case of damage caused by striking overhead objects/ trees and from backing up vehicle, the customer's responsibility is  UNLIMITED and NOT reduced from 2000 Euro  to 400 Euro.  

PAI - 24 Hour Breakdown Insurance - 8 Euro per day  (Maximum 300 Euro)
Assistance to passengers and vehicle in case of mechanical breakdown or non responsible accident. Towing costs, lodging (with a limit of 38 Euro per person per day), other transportation or repatriation to departure location are covered by this insurance. This is valid in countries listed in insurance green card.

Radio, air conditioning, refrigerator, propane-gas and 12 volt-appliances malfunctions are not considered to be mechanical breakdowns.
How this insurance work ?

Whatever the problem, the customer must call our 24 hour assistance. Everywhere in Europe. If the motorhome can move autonomously, the customer will be guided to the nearest workshop with a pre-arranged meeting.

In case of malfunction of one of the appliances, If the Motorhome is damaged as a result of a Breakdown, an Accident or an Assisted Problem and consequently cannot move autonomously, the Customer must call the Rental Company's Assistance (24 hours a day).
The Rental Company's Assistance will call and pay for a rescue van to tow the Motorhome to the nearest Fiat Professional Dealership or to another site identified by the rescue operator if the nearest Fiat Professional Dealership is closed. The Customer is entitled in all cases to demand the Motorhome be towed to the nearest Fiat Professional Service Dealership workshop. (Towing costs are paid by the Rental Company's Assistance)

If requested by the customer, The Rental Company's Assistance will organize transport of the passengers in the place where the camper will be towed (with limits).

Courtesy Car

If in the case of a Breakdown, an Accident or an Assisted Problem, the time needed for repair is longer than 4 hours or if the Fiat Professional Dealership workshop is closed for more than 24 hours, the Fiat Professional Dealership

that performs the repair will make a courtesy car available free of charge for a maximum of five days.

Hotel Expenses

If necessary, The Rental Company's Assistance will organize a stay of a maximum of 5 nights in a local hotel. (Maximum 100 Euro per night for a maximum of 5 nights).

Return Motorhome depot

If in the case of a Breakdown, an Accident or an Assisted Problem, the time needed for repair is longer than 4 hours or if the Fiat Professional Dealership workshop is closed for more than 24 hours, The Rental Company's Assistance will organize return of the passengers to the Motorhome depot by train or by plane (conditions apply).

 

Unapproved expenses will not be refunded.

 

  

First Night Accommodation 

For clients who arraive by trasatlantic flights, It is strongly recommended to spend the first night in a hotel.

Generally stations are open Monday through Saturday.

All stations are closed on Sundays and on Bank Holidays.
Tours - is closed on Mondays.
Marseille and Angers - are closed on Monday morning.

Marseille, Nantes, Grenoble, and Lyon are closed on Saturday afternoons.

All stations are closed during lunch time between 12:00-14:00.

Pick Up Formalities

* No refund if vehicle is picked up later than scheduled time.

* Allow approximately one hour for departure formalities  

*  Please show a valid driving license (domestic or international)

*  A security deposit is needed by credit card imprint VISA, MASTERCARD .
This is to ensure vehicle is returned on time, complete with all equipment and in undamaged condition.

* Watch a 10 mm video "How to operate your motorhome" (French or English).

* Receive an "Operator Manual" guide.

* While the company representative inspects the vehicle, it is recommended you also inspect it and inform of every damage or lack. If you approve the vehicle, you will be asked to sign a "Departure contract".

* Before departure, please make sure you understand everything about operating and driving the motorhome.

the customer agrees that he has examined the Motorhome hired and that it is undamaged and in good condition and repair, mechanically and otherwise, except as may be specifically noted on the Motorhome check out form.

The customer shall not disconnect or/and tamper with speedometer and if the same show signs of having been tampered with or disconnected, customer agrees that he shall pay the rental company for the said Motorhome of the stated rate on the basis of four weeks of rental.

 

Luggage storage

Luggage storage or other valuables is provided free of charge, with the responsibility of the client - except for One-Way rentals.

 

Important!

* Before signing the contract please check the vehicle from the inside and outside and make sure there are no damages or broken parts. If there is some damage, have it noted to the rental agent in writing.

*  Make sure you have all the items you paid for, and that nothing is missing.

* Before the departure make sure you know how to operate all the motorhome systems, mechanicals and electrical: refrigerator, heating, air condition, water etc. If it's not clear, you may ask for explanations.

* Please ask for a map or directions to nearby campground and supermarkets for you to stock up on food and bottled water.

 

 

Drop Off Formalities 

* Drop off time Monday to Friday 09:00 to 11:00 AM , OR- 14:00-17:00
Note: Pick up in the morning and drop off in the afternoon are possible with extra day charge.

* All depots are closed for lunch (12:00-14:00 hrs).

* No returns after 17:00.

* Saturday Morning drop off: 09:00-11:00 AM (all stations)

 

* Please note:  Toilet must be clean and empty, Waste water tank must be drained, Interior of motorhome must be clean (especially refrigerator, stove and shower), Diesel tank must be full (as it was on departure)

* In case the vehicle is returned unclean, the client will be charged with 100 Euro - Indoor cleaning fee.

The security deposit is returned provided that the motorhome is undamaged and clean. The company representative inspects the vehicle, and the client is asked to sign a "Return contract".

 

Late Return / Early Return

Late return - If you will be late in returning, advise the rental station immediately. Failure to advise will result in prosecution for driving whilst uninsured. An additional hire charge of 1 day hire cost will be payable for each 4 hours' delay. Should no notice given, the Motorhome will be considered missing if not returned on time. In addition, the Motorhome will be no more covered by the rental company's insurance.
Early return
- There is no refund if client terminates rental before scheduled time.

 

Maintenance And Responsibility

The customer is responsible for routine maintenance while traveling (water, coolant levels, engine oil, tire pressure) as well as reporting mechanical failure immediately.
Clients may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence on operation and/or in performing normal maintenance.

 

Feul /Gas / Oil
T
he customer is responsible to verify engine oil, water and coolant levels. He is also responsible for purchase of fuel, including return of the vehicle with a full fuel tank.

The vehicle is supplied with two gas bottles : one is full, one is half full.

There is no charge for the first two gas bottles.

Any extra bottle bought by customer during rental period remains at his expenses.

Use of the Motorhome
The customer agrees that the use of Motorhome is expressly limited and restricted to the customer or such authorised operators as provided in this agreement.
The Motorhome must only be used on a surface which is sealed.

The driver must NOT:

* allow or permit the Motorhome to be used for any illegal purpose, race, contest or performance test of any kind;

* allow or permit the Motorhome to be used to tow or push anything,

* sublet or let the Motorhome on hire to any other person;

* carry more passengers than may be properly accommodated by the seat belt restraints provided in the Motorhome, or carry a greater load than that for which it was built;

* be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or have a blood alcohol content that exceeds the legal limit in the Country, State or Territory in which the Motorhome is driven; or refuse to take a breath or blood test in the Country, State or Territory in which the Motorhome is driven;

* allow the Motorhome to be used to carry passengers for payment of any kind;

* use the Motorhome when it is damaged or unsafe;

* transport any animal inside the Motorhome [except with the permission from the Owner]. An additional Motorhome cleaning charge may apply.

* operate or permit the Motorhome to be operated in breach of any legislation, regulations, rules or by laws relating to road traffic and use.

Maintanace / Repairs 
The customer must not arrange or undertake any repairs or salvage to the Motorhome (whether because of an accident or breakdown) without the express written authority of the rental company, except to the extent that the repairs or salvage are necessary to prevent further damage to the Motorhome or other property in which case he/she must first attempt to contact the rental companyby phone to inform them of the steps he/she is intending to take and obtain approval to those steps.
The rental company
will only reimburse the customer for the cost of such authorised repairs or salvage if he/she keeps and produces the original receipts for those repairs or salvage.

Breakdown
In any case of a breakdown or mechanical problem, client must call first the rental station during the opening hours.The customer is strongly recommended to purchase Breakdown Insurance in case the customer not has his own cover. Policy details will be provided on request.

Substitute Vehicle 

If, for any reason beyond the rental company control, the reserved vehicle is not available, the rental company reserve the right to substitute a model of similar or higher rated vehicle.

Accident
If you are involved in an accident with another vehicle, fill out the accident report : take down circumstances, date, place, name of any witnesses, third part name, insurance company and policy. Use the original accident report - in French - which is in your user's manual. Do not use the copy in English.
In addition to any repairing cost or charge, the Renter is liable to pay Eur 40 accident administration fee. (per accident). If the renter is not responsible, that amount will be refunded.
Any responsible accident or accident due to violation of road/traffic regulations, and which prevents the motorhome being used again, constitutes early termination of the rental agreement irrespective of which Insurance chosen. In such a case, there is no refund for unused days and no exchange motorhome.

Theft
In case of the theft of the motorhome, it is mandatory to fill a complaint with the authorities within 48 hours of the theft. Hand in the complaint form receipt with the keys of the vehicle. The customer may be held fully responsible if keys are not returned. The customer agrees to pay the full cost of replacing all contents supplied by the rental company (including but not limited to; radio, GPS units and keys). Personal belongings are not covered by the rental company .

Traffic / Parking Tickets

All expenses caused by speeding tickets, parking tickets or other infraction during the rental period - are client's responsibility. The rental company is under no conditions responsible for speeding tickets, parking tickets or other infraction during the rental period. 
In addition to any penalty or fine, the Renter is liable to pay 40 Euro

Travel Restrictions
Travel to European countries is allowed: France, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, Finland ,Denmark, Greece.
Travel to Eastern Europe is limited to the European Union countries (Poland, Hungary, Czech Rep., Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) and Croatia and Slovenia. Travel to other Eastern Europe countries is not allowed and not covered by the rental company's insurance.
Travel to North Africa is not permitted.

 

Pets
Pets are allowed, as long the renter is fully responsible of returning the vehicle clean and undamaged.

 

Safety Rules

In every refueling and every time before you start out on a journey, please switch the gas-fuelled equipment off.

 

Winter Warning

External temperatures of 0 C (32 Fahrenheit) or below might cause the pipes to freeze. Under weather conditions like these, the vehicle will have to be permanently heated. If the vehicle is not sufficiently heated, the frost protection device discharges the water from the boiler in order to prevent the boiler walls from breaking.
